Our Mission
Nonpareil is a playful, community-driven event series that teaches wine and media literacy by pairing wine with music, film, writing, and other cultural experiences. Together, we explore how taste, sound, story, and memory intersect. It’s part guided tasting / part cultural study / part kickback.
What We Do
Core Themes
- Wine education through cultural pairing
- Media literacy & critical consumption
- Accessibility for Black communities & people with limited free time
- Personal engagement through music, film, and writing
- Community connection & local business support
Event Types
- BYOB / Intimate Gatherings: Personal, educational, invite-only sessions
- Curated Tastings: Guided explorations with local wines
- Formal Functions: Larger public programs that support and fund accessibility
How It Works
We explore how taste, sound, story, and memory intersect. Each event is part guided tasting, part cultural study, part kickback—creating space for connection, creativity, and critical thinking.
In a world overflowing with content, we believe learning to "taste" media with intention is just as important as learning to taste wine.
Geography & Reach
Miami-based and expanding to New York, Ghana, South Africa, Caribbean, and Montreal
Support Our Mission
With your support, we can provide supplies, subsidize wine for participants who need it, book community spaces, and ensure cost is never a barrier to participation.
Community & Partnerships
We collaborate with local wine shops, creative studios, radio stations, small restaurants, and independent cultural groups to keep events low-cost or free while strengthening small business ecosystems.
